The Classbook is our most popular program among teachers and is perfect for students grades K-6. Publishing provides a real-world experience for a classroom full of bright young students to get creative, learn about the writing process, build upon their reading and writing skills, and work collaboratively to create a book. Publishing a book with your class is cross-curricular and can be as easy as putting an existing lesson onto our paper.

This book isn’t just any book. Once your students have finished creating the pages, your kit is returned to us and transformed into a published book. Get started on your Classbook today by filling out the form!

A minimum of 12 students per class is required to participate in creating your FREE, classbook due to its collaborative nature. If you’re a homeschool or a pod click here.

Why is the classbook program free for teachers?
For each teacher who publishes a collaborative book with their class, we offer one FREE publishing kit and one deluxe, hardcover book FREE to the teacher. All we ask is that parents have the option to order a copy of the classbook. Parents can pre-order their own copy starting at $26.95 online for U.S. customers with the parent order forms included in your publishing kit. Parents are under no obligation, and the teacher’s book is still free. Not every parent orders, and that’s okay. Students still love sharing the classroom copy with their parents.

Publishing your students' work is simple:

  • Order Kit: Sign up to receive your FREE publishing kit with all required materials.
  • Get Creative: Let your students’ imaginations run wild as they fill the kit pages with their writing and illustrations. The sky’s the limit!
  • Publish Book: Submit your completed kit(s), and we’ll send your deluxe hardcover book, FREE to the teacher, along with extra copies ordered by parents.

Our publishing kits are designed for Pre-K through 12th grade! Whether you teach early writers working on simple sentences and hand-drawn illustrations or older students publishing short story collections, poems or research projects, our kit adapts easily to any grade level or subject.

How long does it take to get our published books back?
Once you ship your completed kit back to us, standard publishing and delivery take 20 business days. You can track your classbook order through your Publishing Portal so you can plan your Publishing Party! See details for our Holiday Delivery and Winter Break Delivery Timeline.

What is your satisfaction guarantee?
We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all of our book purchases. If parents purchase their child's book and are dissatisfied in any way, they can return it directly to us for a replacement or a full refund. Our Customer Care Team is happy to assist any teachers or parents!

What if a student makes a mistake or a new student joins our class during the publishing process?
Don't worry - we have you covered! Mistakes are part of the learning process. Every kit includes extra replacement pages so students can start over if needed. If you run out or have a new student join your class mid-classbook creation, you can easily download and print additional replacement templates directly from our Teacher’s Lounge so every student is included in your book.
